Egg-citing Times at Ennis Montana Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt
Egg-citing Times at Ennis Montana Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt
Ennis, Montana – The Ennis Montana Lions Club hosted a cracking good time at their annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 30, drawing in over 250 eager egg hunters across three age categories. The event, made possible by the generous support of sponsors like the Madison Valley Women’s Club, First Madison Valley Bank, and First Interstate Bank, brought together families and friends for a day of festive fun. However, before the egg hunting could commence, the diligent Lions took to the fields on Friday for some pre-hunt cleanup, ensuring that only the eggs were hidden, not any unwanted surprises left by local wildlife. As Lion George has warned for years, “Don’t eat the brown jelly beans!”
A heartfelt shoutout goes to Ennis teacher Jamie Diehl and her students, who went above and beyond by cooking and dyeing a whopping 60 dozen eggs! Thanks to Stacy at Ennis Pharmacy & Yesterday’s for the storage of the eggs. These colorful creations added an extra dash of charm to the event.
As the sun peeked out from behind the clouds, attendees were treated to the sight of special guests hopping around – none other than the Easter Bunny and the Easter Lion! Their presence added an extra layer of joy to the proceedings.
For those with furry companions, Rachel at Treasure State Treats sponsored a Dog Easter Egg Hunt, ensuring that even the four-legged members of the community could get in on the action.
In total, the Lions hid over 1300 eggs, ensuring there were plenty to go around for all the eager hunters. And here’s the sweetest part: over 600 of those eggs were filled with candy and fruit snacks, adding an extra delicious twist to the treasure hunt.
With laughter echoing through the Ennis Lions Park and smiles stretching from ear to ear, the Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt proved to be yet another egg-cellent success, leaving everyone already counting down the days until next year’s festivities.

Ennis Lions Poker Tournament
Ennis, Montana – The Ennis Lions Club hosted its highly anticipated annual Poker Tournament on Sunday, February 4th, with an impressive turnout of 24 skilled poker players vying for victory and contributing to a worthy cause. The event, held at the Silver Dollar, was a resounding success, with participants from near and far converging for an exciting day of cards and camaraderie.
Shaun Vetter of Belgrade emerged as the champion of the tournament, showcasing exceptional skill and strategy throughout the competition. Local pride was evident as Ennis-based players secured 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places, highlighting the strong poker talent within the community.
The Ennis Lions Poker Tournament was not only an opportunity for friendly competition but also a platform for fundraising efforts benefiting local initiatives. Through a combination of entry fees, generous donations, and a lively silent auction featuring an array of enticing items, the event raised nearly $7000 in total.
“We are thrilled by the overwhelming support and enthusiasm shown by our community and sponsors for this year’s Poker Tournament,” said Lion Bernie Oglietti of the Ennis Lions Club. “The funds raised will enable us to continue our important work in supporting local causes and initiatives that make a tangible difference in the lives of Ennis residents.”
The success of the tournament would not have been possible without the generous contributions and support of numerous local businesses, as well as the dedication of the participants who made the event a memorable one. The Ennis Lions Club extends its heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors, players, volunteers, and attendees who helped make this event a resounding success.
